VP, you may be right. Which one, is for another forum probably. BUT, let's say I want to use Absynth or B3, or a 3rd party synth inside Logic, I would want to have the controls on the keyboard.

Using a synth, or stock instrument like the B3 inside Logic, I'd want to use the knobs on the keyboard. I agree though, that the compressors and such should be another set of knobs, like the CS12 maybe. Hence, the black hole of monetary investments…

You can use Absynth within Komplete Kontrol. B3? I do not know what that is. And any "third party synth" - as long as it is NKS compliant and has been scanned by KK - will be available in Komplete Kontrol
Everything else - from stock Logic plugins to any non-NKS instruments will not be available.
Transport control and the ability to mixer via KK - should be available using buttons etc on the keyboard. I know my transport and mixer work perfectly in Studio One with KK v2.9.6 and my S61 MKII

Thanks. As I’ve said - let’s forget for a second about NKS and KK software. Default screen for KK Mk3 in Logic is mixer, transport is always working. One press of SETTINGS/MIDI button and we have the default midi template with CCs already assigned to encoders and buttons. Invoke the plugin instance, select control on screen, choose “midi learn”, turn encoder or press button, done.
Nearly all Logic Pro interface can be midi learned, not just plugins. I have a template in KK Mk3 just for this:
- Show/hide plugin GUI of selected track (Button)
- Show/hide FX GUI of selected track (Button)
- Adjust pan/volume of selected track (two Encoders)
- Zoom timeline in/out horizontally and vertically (two Encoders)
- 4 encoders left for cutoff, resonance, whatever else I want to control in a synth plugin
All that on one screen of my custom Default midi template.
One press of SETTINGS/MIDI button again and we’re back to mixer control. Can’t really be any simpler than that.
What is not simple and quite tedious (although doable) is to map the ENTIRE synth plugin (let’s say, 20-30 controls on screen) to a midi template.

SO, I've been moderately successful at programming a template for Logic's ES2 synth, which is a pretty good synth. I might even put in an image, which is extravagant, but what the hell… BUT, a question: I would like those previous/next buttons to the left of the screen to be able to scroll through the presets. Is this even possible?
