I've heard that hydra is the only software that will work with kk mk3? Surely this is bull.im on mk 2 but need to know if it's worth it as I only brought mk2 14 months ago. Many thanks to you

Polyphonic Aftertouch is supported by a lot of software and hardware synths, here's a little list:

    Native PolyAT Support

    • Arturia Pigments
    • U-He Diva (latest versions)
    • U-He Zebra2
    • Surge XT (open source)
    • VCV Rack (with appropriate modules)
    • Ableton Wavetable (with configuration)
    • Vital (PolyAT assignable via modulation matrix)
    • Equator2 (from ROLI) – best used with MPE but supports PolyAT.
    • Omnisphere 2 – supports PolyAT via MIDI learn and modulation matrix.

    DAWs That Route PolyAT Properly

    • Bitwig Studio (fully PolyAT + MPE aware)
    • Cubase Pro
    • Logic Pro X
    • Reaper (with some MIDI routing effort)
    • Ableton Live (with limitations – not great at PolyAT routing unless via MPE)

Hardware Synths with Native Polyphonic Aftertouch Support

    • Expressive E Osmose – one of the most advanced PolyAT + MPE synths ever made.
    • ASM Hydrasynth (all models) – full PolyAT support; the keyboard itself even sends it.
    • Waldorf Iridium & Quantum – support PolyAT via external controller.
    • Sequential Prophet-5 Rev4 / Prophet-10 Rev4 – now support PolyAT via firmware (input only).
    • Yamaha Montage M – PolyAT input supported (depending on version and firmware).
    • UDO Super Gemini – supports PolyAT input.
    • Modal Argon8 and Cobalt8 – support PolyAT input over MIDI
    • Yamaha CS-80
    • Yamaha DX1
    • Yamaha DX5
    • Ensoniq VFX / VFX-SD / EPS
    • Sequential Prophet T8
    • Roland A-80 (controller) – not a synth but a classic PolyAT-capable keyboard.

What do you mean by "will work with the KK MK3"? The MK3 adds polyphonic aftertouch which works with VST instruments that support it, but it still works with VSTs that need channel aftertouch.

The Yamaha GX-1 also has polyAT! Just a little more expensive (a tiny bit) than a CS-80

I'd have to sell the company to buy that. It's not my company, but that's a minor obstacle …
