Komplete Kontrol not loading Kontakt 7

Hi,
Just noticed an issue with my setup.
Was trying to load a library that required Kontakt 7 - Komplete Kontrol refused to load it, saying my version of Kontakt is too old.
I have Kontakt 7, but Komplete Kontrol (v 3.3.4) won't load it- see attached.
So to load any patches that need v7, I have to launch kontakt outside of KK.
Any simple way to fix this? I've had a search, but can't see anything up to date.
Thanks!

Update - as it happens I had a friend who's even more nerdy like me visiting…he did a deep dive into my NI installations, went further than the NI instructions in removing Kontakt and KK (in terms of system files and so on), we reinstalled and now it seems to be working!
Thanks for all the tech support; ultimately something must have just got confused throughout updates and old versions and so on, but we got there!0

Have you tried rescanning the plugins from here?
If that doesn't work you can also try to reset Komplete Kontrol's database:
Reinitialize the Komplete Kontrol Database
- Note: The User Library folder is hidden. See this article for instructions to access hidden macOS folders.
- Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the Komplete Kontrol folder.
- Note: Deleting other NI product folders could result in unexpected behavior with other applications.
- Reboot your computer and reopen the Komplete Kontrol software to check that the issue has been resolved.
Also make sure that Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt 7 and your DAW all have full disk access: How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

Thanks @Jeremy_NI . It could also be that I'm still on Monterey so I can't use the latest version of Komplete Kontrol…I need to update the computer at some point, but I'm loathe to do so whilst everything else is fine!

Kontakt 7 should load fine in Komplete Kontrol 3.3.4. Have you tried a rescan/database reset?

I did a rescan; interestingly the standalone version then lets you load K7, but freezes whilst doing so! I've not tried a reset yet, I'll do that and report back

Hi @Jeremy_NI, sorry for the delay in reply here.
I've followed all your steps.
Kontakt standalone shows both "Kontakt" and "Kontakt 7" available - however if you try to load 7, it takes ages, appears to load and then doesn't display; if you then try to re-load it, it's greyed out.
Within Pro Tools, it's always greyed out.
I had to rescan plugins for both, so I'm confident that part of it has been taken care of.
Any further ideas?

Are you on Kontakt 7.10.7? If not, could you update to that version?

I am fully up to date, and on that version of Kontakt yes.
I'm running Monterey 12.7.6 though so I'm on Komplete Kontrol 3.3.4

@adrianbreakspear Please follow these steps for Kontakt 7: Kontakt Crashes

Thanks - will report back

OK so I've gone through all of that.
Kontakt 7 on its own is fine - it's just within Komplete Kontrol that it doesn't work. See attached screenshot - I load K7 and it loads, but if you try to actually load anything into it, it doesn't work. I just closed the browser and instead of seeing the tab with the kontakt engine, library on the left - blank. Can't do anything.
And its still greyed out within the AAX plugin, I don't even have the option to load it there!0 -
Looking here…
I do not see any support for OS12 Monterey
OS13 appears to be the entry level for Komplete Kontrol 3.34.

I see. Well - 3.3.4 installs under Monterey, but later versions don't, so I guess I assumed it's compatible up to this version!
I did flag this at the start of the convo that I wondered if it were an OS/version incompatibility issue but @Jeremy_NI said it should be fine.
In all other respects, Komplete seems to work fine. No other issues. An OS update is long overdue, but you know how it goes…when everything else works, you don't want to disrupt things!

"An OS update is long overdue, but you know how it goes…when everything else works, you don't want to disrupt things!"
Except that "things" are not working now. And I have seen many a scenario where something appears to run - but does not actually work.
And - I also see you are running an s88MKII. V3 of Komplete Kontrol - especially on an OS as old as yours - is not a requirement - unless you are running a MKIII.
I also have a MKII and can suggest you might have vastly better success using KK v2.9.6. You may want to give this a try.

Well - everything ELSE works as I said, it’s just one relatively minor thing that doesn’t.
I can work round it til I do an OS update (Monterey may be “old” but in pro studio worlds it’s not really - we’re always 2 OS behind the times!).
Was really just trying to narrow down the issue here. It’s odd that it’s literally just the latest Kontakt that isn’t working. Maybe that’s the version of KK, or maybe it’s something else.So yeah - will wait to see if the NI employees here want to confirm the above, cos that’s not been suggested yet!

I am in the pro studio world as well - and can certainly relate to the "1-2 OS" behind concept - but for me - that concept always means using an OS that is still supported.
Monterey is not and was retired by Apple long ago. You should be on Ventura at a minimum now.
