Kontrol S61 Keeps Dropping Out

I recently bought the Kontrol S61 keyboard, which clearly was a mistake as my Novation 61 SL MK3 was working fine and I've had nothing but problems with the Kontrol. I should have left well enough alone.

Here's what's happening: all software/firmware on my Mac, Kontakt and Kontrol S61 are updated. I turn on Logic. I load Kontakt. I load an instrument. I see it in Kontakt in Logic and on the S61 screen. The moment I try to change to ANY instrument on the S61, I lose the connection and all I see is "Default MIDI Template" on the 61.

This happens EVERY single time I change any preset on the S61.

Any ideas?

NI technical support has been completely useless.

    Unfortunately Logic can occasionally be a bit temperamental with the Mk3 my experience. Have you tried running Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Rebuild Defaults? This usually fixes issues with Logic for me, if not could you check if the same issue occurs with Kontakt running in standalone mode? Or is it only in Logic?
