Checking compatibility before upgrading MacOS

I'm about to purchase a new MacBook Pro, but I'm checking the compatibility of all my Logic Pro plugins with Sonoma and perhaps Sequoia just to be safe. I found the page that details the compatibility of several NI products here:

What about the NI effects (e.g., Driver, Raum) and instruments / sound libraries (e.g., Analog Dreams, Hypha, Jacob Collier Audience Choir, whatever) themselves that work within Komplete, Kontakt, Reaktor, or whatever? Is there another page that details their compatibility? Are they considered compatible as long as the platforms that utilize them are compatible? In any case, what's the simplest way to determine their compatibility? Thanks.

It's not necessary for sound libraries because they are not plugins or executable code, they are made to run in a software program and it is that that needs to have compatibility with an OS. I have Kontakt libraries that go back to Kontakt 2 that still work. (and release notes are not going to help with these either as some older ones won't have been updated in a long time)

Firstly - I am not a Mac user - but Sequoia has been in the clear across the board for a while now.

Way back in fall 2024 when it came out - it was certainly a minefield but in the last 6 months - there hasn't been a whole lot that anyone is reporting on the forums here.

Checking compatibility is a very smart and prudent move. However I do not think there is any major risk with Sequoia now - even if every single product you might think of using is not specifically on the "official" compatibility listing.

There are tons of Mac users in here - if it was a deal breaker - we would have heard that around these parts loud and clear.

As long as Kontakt etc are compatible so are the libraries and banks that load in them, there is no need to list those

As for the fx, I’ve had no issues with them and have been on Sequoia for months now

Thanks for your replies. In the end I just looked up each product in my arsenal to be sure. Sometimes what the website says is slightly different than what Release Notes given in Native Access say… more so for effects than sound libraries. Tracking down the first and last versions to be supported for oldest to newest operating systems is an arduous task I was hoping to avoid, but I did what I had to do. Thanks again, all.

I was planning to update my Mac OS from Ventura to Sonoma until I checked Output.com's statement about their Kontakt-based Instruments: "Kontakt-based Instruments: Not yet compatible, please refer to Native Instrument's macOS 14 Sonoma Compatibility Statement for the latest updates." When I went to NI's macOS 14 Sonoma Computability Statement I did not find info on Output's instruments or any other 3rd party libraries.

I noticed in this tread, if I am understanding this correctly, that if Kontakt 8 runs in the MacOS then any 3rd party library that runs in Kontakt 8 would also run without issues. I have the latest version of Kontakt 8 and Output's Signal instrument running in MacOS Ventura with no issues. My specific concern is about Output's Signal instrument, which I love using and would be very unhappy if it would not load and run in Kontakt after updating to Sonoma. Is anyone using Signal in Kontakt 8 and running Sonoma on their Mac?

Signal should be just fine.

Tons of Mac users in here that still use Kontakt within Sonoma.
