How to use modulation and expression in Kontakt Player
Hi everyone,
I have a general question about how to automate the modulation and expression parameters using VSTs from Native Instruments. I have the free kontakt player (that I use through Logic Pro) that can load my instruments but am struggling to automate the modulation and expression of my instruments like I can do for VSTs from eg. spitfire or logic. Can anyone advise on how to do this?
Thank you!

Do you have a keyboard or not. If you have a keyboard, you should be able to record modulation (aka MIDI CC1) when playing with the modwheel. For expression (aka MIDI CC7) that would be with an expression pedal set to that MIDI CC. Please note that very few Kontakt libraries have an assihgnment for expression, you would have to MIDI learn that control.
If you don't have a keyboard or expression pedal or both, you can write automation:
For expression you'll need to assign it to a parameter in Kontakt, in Classic view, you can drag and drop MIDI CC7 to any MIDI assignable parameter.
