Kontrol S61 MK3 Stuck in "Default MIDI Template"

Sorry, what do you mean by adding a USB C power input through as well as the data connection? How is that connection set up?
Power the keyboard using an USB-C PSU capable of PD to the USB-C power in while attaching the keyboard to the computer using the USB-C to A adapter.
(USB-A ports are often?/usually ? certified to being able to deliver less power than the USB-C port)(depending on USB protocol version specification of the port)
The power specification of the USB protocols most often used by the USB-C port most likely is part of why N.I. choose the USB-C plug for the keyboard , another being that USB-C plug and USB-C power appear as taking over most of the USB market on many devices.

There are 2 USB C ports at the back of the controller - one is for the data/MIDI to connect to Komplete Kontrol and DAWS, the other is just a power input - I find the connection most stable (especially when updating firmware) if I use both
I presume you are connected with the right one? :)

Yup, I'm connect with the right one. Thanks.

And now I must eat my words, and I owe Matthew an apology. Matthew was correct. I was frustrated, he tried to help, and I took it out on him. I'm sorry about that.
I followed his advice and ran through regular power. I ran USB C from my Mac hub into the host slot on the Kontrol, and then another USB C into standard power into the power slot. Everything is working now. Thanks to everyone.

And I spoke too soon…we're back to having problems again.
My Kontrol keep reverting back to Default Midi Template…and of course I haven't heard anything from NI directly.
