MIDI not playing through Kontakt in LOGIC Pro

I can hear sound from the Kontakt Player itself, but not when I'm playing through a MIDI controller. Can't work it out.

Using Kontakt8

    Hello,

    can you play other instruments with that keyboard, and is that keyboard set as input device on the track where kontakt is loaded.

    Hi Uwe,

    I've just noticed that it's playing/recording with a MIDI through 'Konakt7', even though I uninstalled that version from my computer and replaced it with version 8. Logic has both versions of Kontakt on there. Really weird.

    Maybe the plugin version of kontakt 7 was somehow not uninstalled. That would be very strange if kontakt 7 plays fine and if you load kontakt 8 onto the same track it doesn't. Kontakt instruments also have an indicator for midi input have you checked that on kontakt 7 and 8 it's on the header of any instrument next to the midi port setting the plug sign is also an indicator. And if you don't see that on kontakt 8 go to "view" and enable "default view" then click on the i sign next to a camera sign, now you should see "midi ch" setting, set to omni and if a midi note is played it blinks. And have you tried with the same instrument loaded in both versions.
