Pros and cons to upgrading Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol and using a S-Series Mk3 vs Mk2?

I lost my recording studio in Altadena in the Eaton Canyon fire and now I'm faced with the daunting task of having to replace everything to get my studio up and running again. Prior to everything going up in flames, I had the 88 Mk2 and it was basically stable with Komplete Kontrol V 3.0.2 and Kontakt 7. The thought of upgrading to the Mk3 and Kontakt 8 along with the latest version of Komplete Kontrol (I believe the current version of KK is 3.4?) makes me nervous as my experience with upgrading KK software and hardware has not been great and I don't want to open a can of worms trouble shooting by going through a major upgrade (I don't have the bandwidth for that during this challenging time). Are the latest versions of Kontakt and KK running reliably with the Mk3 (ie: all plugins/libraries showing up and loading) or am I better off just sticking with the older version of Kontakt and KK and getting a used 88Mk2 (this will also save me some $$)? Fortunately, when I evacuated I did take my computer (Mac Studio M1) and hard drives so I at least have my audio system and all my sound libraries. Any advice would be appreciated.
