Major bug on the channel strips of my Maschine Jam with the Ableton Live 12 template.

I've tried everything, but nothing works. When I connect my Maschine MK2, I have no issues controlling track volumes in Ableton Live 12 or even accessing my plugins. However, when I try to do the same with the Maschine Jam, the channel strips simply don’t work—there’s no interaction with Ableton, and no LEDs light up. Even worse, if I launch "Controller Editor" with the Maschine Jam connected, it crashes every time.

According to Claude AI, there might be bugs in the Python code. My questions are:

  1. Are other users experiencing the same issue?
  2. Has a fix been released since its launch?
  3. Would it be possible for Native Instruments to address this?
  4. Where should I report this issue to get a fix?

I finally reinstalled everything... and now it works. I feel a bit ashamed for losing my patience before thoroughly testing everything.

Now, I have a new question: how do I delete a post?

what you will find when using the Jam….

is if you disconnect the maschine Jam or a application crash occurs, which is also utilising the "Maschine Jam - 1" input device name…

it will inevitably change from being a device which is recognised as

    Maschine jam - 1 input

    to

    Maschine - 1

notice the suffix on the previous (they are recognised as different devices in DAW's)

this will not change back unless you reset your computer…

it is for this reason i change my controllers to Maschine - 2 or Maschine - 3 or Maschine - 4 inside the controller editor, so that when a application crash occurs… it remains the same

this only seems to occur when using the Maschine jam - 1 input

now you know why your maschine jam was not responding!
