Komplete Kontrol S88 Mk2 – can't turn off Test/Vegas mode
Hello everyone!
I recently bought a used Komplete Kontrol S88 Mk2. The previous owner had spilled some liquid on the keyboard, which caused several keys to stop working. The keybed PCB consists of three sections. The right section suffered severe corrosion, so I had to replace the connector and ribbon cable (FPC/FCC 16pin).
I ran into an issue: after reassembling and powering on, the keys go into Test/Vegas mode and won’t exit. The keyboard also not recognized over USB.
Does anyone have any ideas on where to look? Maybe someone has a service manual with schematics?
I already checked twice all connections inside. No any short circuits. All slots are connected properly. I also tried several different USB cables, attempting to connect Komplete Kontrol to my laptop, but there’s no signal over USB.
Do have somebody any ideas?

can't turn off Test/Vegas mode
As far as I know then that is supposed to 'reset' when you turn off the keyboard.
I also tried several different USB cables, attempting to connect Komplete Kontrol to my laptop, but there’s no signal over USB.
Are you using a PSU for the keyboard ? Especially the S88 will most likely require a PSU. Generally speaking though then if there is a problem with electronics and you add (more) power then that will just fry the electronics (more ?)
Else then it is impossible to say how much the keyboard is defect. But you could try using a PSU to power keyboard then try connecting it using the Midi connection instead of the USB to se if that produces Midi out. Normally then the keyboard should switch to Midi mode when not connected using USB and when Komplete Kontrol is not running on the computer that it is connected to using USB.
As far as I know then there is no repair schematics or spare part / components list available anywhere.

I'm using the original power supply. Vegas mode runs immediately after power-on. I tried using USB for diagnostics, but the KK S88 is not recognized by my laptop.

I tried using USB for diagnostics, but the KK S88 is not recognized by my laptop.
Hence the general trouble shooting advice and the suggestion to try testing the Midi connection instead.
If the keyboard is sufficiently powered and the general troubleshooting does not help getting the Keyboard recognized via USB and other ports and maybe another computer has been tried also then it stands to reason that either the keyboard is generally defect or the USB connection is.
Trying the Midi connection could maybe bring you as far as knowing if the keyboard otherwise works correctly other than the USB connection not working and the light guide being screwed up.

Turning on only with power supply. KK s88 don't start by USB cable.
