Any way to prevent Traktor from lagging?

The collection is analyzed at music folder import. I import the music folder fairly regularly as the library is always updating.
I think here is the root of your problem. The "import music folder at startup"!
I have the "import music folder at start up" disabled, since ages!
It is extremely time-consuming for no reason, since you can easily add the new music manually by selecting it, right-click and choose "Import to collection". It is much more easy and much more fast.

That is disabled. In fact your screenshot looks exactly like my config. I am wondering about file structure mode and if that would do something, but that is a question for another day lol.

Another thing I am wondering is if I should analyze the Library on my desktop (which can run 24/7) and copy that collection file to the laptop (the drives are mapped exactly the same as I prepare playlists on my desktop for weddings and just import the playlist file to the laptop)
That's a perfect solution. 👍️

File Structure modes determine the file structure when exporting a Playlist, that's all

yeah… I read that just now… was hoping it might help, but nope :(

I am syncing the desktop and laptop as we speed to see if this option will change things. Not sure if it will as currently the COLLECTION file is the same size on the laptop as it is on the desktop

Look a couple of options down: analyze new imported tracks is the one to disable

Ahh… so disable analyze new imported tracks… just do the ones that are used a LOT and then analyze as needed? Am I catching what you are throwing?

Yes. It'll take a few seconds when you load a track for the first time to analyse.

OK. I just cleared the collection, but had not made that change yet. But I did cancel when it asked to analyze. I can pre-analyze a track before loading if I know it is coming.
now is this a good thing to do with Traktor? Worth a test, but Not 100% sure if it is the best option?0 -
Well it saves on having thousands of stripe and waveform files

If someone could upload a huge collection file, I can test if it also lags on my end, just searching etc.

So I completely cleared my collection and just imported music folder. The Collection file is sitting around 82MB, so analyzing really does not add too much. But even though I did not "analyze", it shows as if it is analyzed? almost all my tracks show "striped/transition…"
When importing the music folder, it does scan all the songs, but that is much faster than when I run analyzation (which takes around four days).
Is it possible it is reading tags in the files and still creating an analyzation based on that?0 -
If you just renamed/moved the collection.nml, your stripe files will still be there in their folders.
