Controlling Plugins & Standalone Simultaneously

While using my Roland Integra-7 with the S61MK3, I turned on my computer to look up some things and forget that I had my controller connected. Once I powered it on, the controller stopped working with the Integra. It's likely due to the S61 finding the computer and readying to control a VST.
This made me wonder, is it possible to switch between controlling plugins & standalone hardware seamlessly? If so, how?

Could you break it down a little more?
I have a rack unit (Standalone) I've incorporated into my workflow. So I use that along with various plugins. Right now, I've been just plugging/ unplugging the USB to control the plugin when I'm done with the rack unit. Are you saying that I can plug in the 5 pin & USB and I can cycle thru controlling one or the other?
Thanks,
Cris

Not your fault - it's a bit hidden.
In Native Access 2, when you go to install NI Hardware Connection Service (which is required, as well as the firmware update) click the three dots and then Release Notes.
