Studio One Pro and Kontakt 5 / 7

I am using Studio One Pro. When I one up my song everything loads except my Native Instruments. I was using Kontakt 5 and it will not work anymore. It is like it can't find the sample library. This is the error I get:

One or more Kontact instances cannot be recalled correctly. Please open Kontrol to resolve issue. I try but it cannot find the samples.

I think that will work for me. Thank you for all your time. I am going to mess around with it tonight. Oh I use studio 7.1. Everything happened after I did the latest update to Studio 7.1

Thanks I will let you know tomorrow how things worked out.

Need more info on this one.

What library is giving you errors?

What versions of Kontakt do you already have installed? What version of Studio One?

What version of Native Access are you running. You mention "Kontakt 5/7" in the thread title - does this mean Kontakt 7 is present as well?

Also what machine is he running them on. Mac or PC, Intel or ARM?

If it cannot find the samples, the obvious thing to try first is reinstalling the library those instances utilize.

Maybe something got deleted inadvertently, or is referencing a location that no longer exists (e.g. Library was moved post installation, but Kontakt is still looking for samples in the old location).

I am running PC Intel Core I5. I was using Kontakt 5 for Session Guitarist and Session Guitarist Deluxe for the past couple of years without a problem.

The other day when I opened my project in Studio One 7 Pro it was not playing back the guitar parts. When I clicked on Kontact 5 I got an error message that it can't

located the samples. It also said I need to upgrade to Kontact 7, which I did but I get the same message. I included some screen shots.

    I really appreciate the help.

First thing I noticed was this:

Which is not a good sign.

Has there been any updates or changes to your DAW (or products) lately?

If you were legit running Session Guitarist/Deluxe within Kontakt 5 - they must be super old versions of those libraries as the latest versions (from Sept 2023) now require K 7.61 (or higher) now.

Did you by chance fly into Native Access at some point in the last little while and update these libraries? If you did - that is a major issue if you still have Kontakt 5 in play.

    Update when you can

No - I meant update this post. If you update your libraries - they will fail with 100% certainty on Kontakt 5

Hi again. I pulled up the old version Kontakt 5 and it shows the Session Guitarist Library but to the Session Guitarist Deluxe. Since Kontakt 5 needs updating I did do that and now I am on Kontakt 7. Kontakt 7 shows both libraries.

When I open my project in Studio One Pro the It gives me the same errors and the error I am attaching to the comment.

When I try to reassign the track to Kontakt 7 instead of Kontakt 5 it works but not the correct samples I used when I created the project. I think my DAW keeps looking for the old Kontakt 5 instead 7.

I think I am getting close. I do appreciate all your (VP) help with this.

    :)

You did not mention the version of Studio One. I use S1 as well - and can tell you that it has no capability to "auto-migrate" a Kontakt 5 instance to a new Kontakt 7 instance.

i have seen the message you posted - generally indicating that either the library used by the instance cannot be located OR the instrument itself is no loger there.

As long as you keep Kontakt 5 installed - all your old projects will work fine. But you will need to move each K5 instance to a K7 instance - manually. This means no direct replacment of the K5 instance with K7 as that will most certainly trash the track. Add a new empty track with K7 on it - and load up the library used in the K5 instance and tweak it to taste.

The good news is that Studio One 7.1 now has the ability to "auto-migrate" Kontakt instances, but I believe it only works when moving from K7 to K8.
