Getting Maschine mk3 playhead to sync with my DAW

I'm having difficulty getting the playheads to match up with Maschine MK3 and Logic Pro X.

If I set a loop in Logic Pro X (say bar 12-18) and record something in the Machine in playback, it will start on bar 15, entirely off.

I can't figure out what I am missing here.

Thanks,

T

What kind of pattern is selected in Maschine, how long is it? Could you maybe provide a small video of the issue so we can try and reproduce the issue on our side?

    Hey Jeremy,

Let me first try to explain what I was doing. I have since removed it from my DAW and moved on to other tools. Please keep in mind that I am new to the Maschine environment.

I had a composition ready for the mix but was missing drums/beats in Logic Pro X.

I set it up as a plugin, which would set a loop in the DAW for measures 46-50 and record.

    • I could not find out if the Mk3 could read where it was on the DAW, so I'm assuming that, at this point, it is probably not possible.

So, I moved to using a 4-bar in the Mrk3 and keeping the four-bar loop in measures 46-50. I would do it maybe once in the Mrk3, so I kept deleting the Maschine recording and starting over until I got what I wanted.

But once I had the beat in the machine, the play head would start halfway through on the mrk3 out of sync with the starting beat on Measure 46.

-Personal side note: I'm thinking that you have to start a project with Maschine rather than be able to insert it into a composition that already has stems.

    Thanks so much,

I can try duplicating what was happening if this is confusing.

    Thanks, Jeremy, for your help.

Side Note: I've been recording albums for 10+ years and just sold my commercial recording studio, so I am downsizing to my home studio. I have finally decided to look at something for finger drumming, such as the MPC, but having a history with NI in my studio, I opted for the Maschine. I have used the Push with Ableton; the point is that I am new to using drum pads. I wasn't a big fan of the Push. Just playing around with the Maschine, I like to flow; I can only imagine how productive it would be once I get it properly integrated into my studio.

10 years.. WOW, let's say congratulations I am almost 20.

I understand you but why you put yourself in that position.

Playhead will be at the position related to host and Maschine and that's mean they can play in sync but having different positions.

Load Maschine in Logic because it's the way to work fast , to have faster workflow.

If you set Bars I'm Logic then just put the same amount in Maschine.

Don't give up. Try this basic way and then you will click and that's it. You will understand if there's different ways to do it and you will choose .

Use song mode with loop off, this way everything will always line up with the DAW.

When you need something to loop, set the loop braces in the DAW.
