Hello

I am new to using any Komplete products. I know full Kontakt 8 is installed along with the instruments in Komplete but am I able to use other brands such as Sonuscore products without having a separate Kontakt 8 installed.

Steve

SonusCore have seven free items for Kontakt , but six of them require full version of Kontakt. (of the free libraries then only "The Orchestra Elements" works with the Player version of Kontakt)(Also then only those that only says 0,00 is free the rest is trial versions)

FractureSounds : Blueprint Collection , 16 free Kontakt instruments that works with the free Kontakt Player. To get the 'Blueprint series instruments then you are required to subscribe to a newsletter to get the link to be able to buy the instruments at zero cost (no CC required) Every individual instrument in the collection require it's own key to redeem in Native Access and is a download of it's own.

Also free : N.I. Komplete Start

Just a word of caution to any who like to use sample players OTHER than Kontakt. If that library was "designed for" Kontakt, then it's very possible that you'll have the best experience if you use Kontakt…even if that library can be played with a different (or freebie) sample player.

If memory serves, Muse is like this. When you buy a library that was written with Kontakt in mind, using Muse to play it might be fine. Or it might be like fingerpainting with your knees and elbows only.

If you are a Steinberg Halion user (meaning that you bought Halion and you have libraries that are for Halion but can also be played in Kontakt or another sampler), then the same thing might apply…you could have a better experience if you play that library with full-blown Halion…say instead of with Falcon.

Is the difference huge? Maybe, maybe not.

Can you go your own way and still make a good recording? Maybe, maybe not.
