Full download and update support for third party coming to Native Access 2?

What is the current stance on third party partners allowing downloading products via Native Access?

I can download all Output Sounds Kontakt instruments but not all my Heavyocity Kontakt instruments (Ensemble drums not included) and not my Output Kontakt expansions. The UX is inconsistent.

I want to simplify the number of software managers I have to use.

Why not work with partners and fix this and create a consistent UX?

Shouldn't investors want Native Access be the Steam of media production?

Probably they should finally make NA a completely reliable program before including all other vendors products. They stated they have issues with their own installation programs because they are so different one from the other. I’m quite scared to think about what would happen if all other vendors’ installation methods would be included in NA

At the moment, I’m happy I have other ways to install non-NI things

Of course some of this might be further in the future but I just wonder what the roadmap actually is.

Agree, Kontakt migration UX and automated uninstall is more important at the moment.

Yes, I currently have to install with Output and Heavyocity software managers (and others) and those still need to exist as an alternative.

Sidenote: For some reason we still don't have iZotope in Native Access and how integrated is Plugin Alliance?

What I would hope is that, once they start integrating these, they don’t eliminate the “other ways” immediately…so that if NA is not ready yet and has issues (which is not something unimaginable since from how long they are working on it and how far they still are from a perfectly working solution) we will be able to work around it.

That’s also why, when Hayo announced the imminent abandoning of NA1, I asked to do it only WHEN and IF NA2 will really be ready…and not just because they decided a date when it will be retired, no matter if ready to do it
