duplicate finder and remover for FM8 presets

I have built up a crazy collection of almost 6000 sounds for FM8, all nfm8 or ksd files, downloaded from the web from various sources. You can imagine that this contains an inordinate amount of duplication. Is there any good app to sort this out, finding and removing doubles?

Oh boy… thankfully not! I'm on Windows! 😎
That's why we always ask the user to tell his operating system first… but in this case i thought it wouldn't matter…
Anyway, it is really simple! "Google" it, find and try some other application until you find what's best for you… or find a friend with Windows and do it there…. we can not assist you further, we already went far beyond the purposes of this forum!

Any system application who has a duplicate finder can do the job.
There are hundreds out there, just Google the name "duplicate finder".
Personally i use CCleaner.
However, keep in mind that, a same preset name, does not necessarily means the same sound too.

Thanks Sunborn,
I saw that there were many of them so help to choose a good one is most welcome!

As i wrote already, i use CCleaner, and it is a pretty good one (obviously, otherwise i wouldn't use it, right? 😋). So, since i use it, i also recommend it.
However, other people may prefer something else and the fact is that most of those apps should be equally good.
But, if you want to dive deep in more complex and more customized options then i recommend the dupeGuru.

Thanks Sunborn. Problem is, neither of the apps I tested allow scanning for files of 2KB, because that is how small these presets are.

Then those apps are not good enough! :-)
With CCleaner you have full control:

I don't have that choice. Probably because it is the free version.

You don't have that choice because you are using the first tab, the quick "Health check" (which is basic and rather simple), instead of the correct one, under "Tools"…
