Almost all of my libraries suddenly say "DEMO"... (Kontakt 7 & 8)

I own A LOT of Kontakt Libraries. Suddenly only five are available in Kontakt's Libraries tab. I can load purchased libraries through Kontakt 8's "Select Product" interface, but when I do, they all show up as "DEMO". This problem also exists in Kontakt 7.

I've reinstalled Kontakt 8, tried to use Native Access to "re-sync" things, fixed permissions and rebooted my machine (spec below) to no avail. Right now, I cannot access any library besides those shown in the screen cap below.

I would have written to NI tech support directly, but direct email access is not promoted / encouraged on the website it appears given how hard it is to find the link to do so.

If anyone could offer a suggestion, it would be hugely appreciated. I'm shut down from using Kontakt.

Thank you.

Are them being showed as Demo also in NA?

In that case, try this article

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402377887121-My-Products-Are-Showing-As-DEMO-in-Native-Access

But also be aware that, from things I’ve seen in the last days, NA servers and NI products recognition system could be having (momentary) issues

Thank you so much for responding and thank you for the link.

Libraries show up in NA just fine…

However, I tried several of the fixes mentioned in the article you sent. I tried to repair activation tokens as well as XML files. That made no difference. When I tried to load a library, I got this message:

However, in all cases, the files were there just as they were supposed to be:

However, choosing the file resulted in nothing…no library was loaded. Last night, the instrument would at least load even though the word "DEMO" was shown. Now, not even that.

Finally, I restored these from my time machine backup:

    LIBRARY>PREFERENCES>com.native-instruments.Kontakt 8.plist

    LIBRARY>PREFERENCES>com.native-instruments.Kontakt Application.plist

    USERS>SHARED>Native Instruments

    LIBRARY>APPLICATION SUPPORT>NATIVE INSTRUMENTS>KONTAKT 8

None of these appear to make a difference.

I will next try a complete manual uninstall of Kontakt 8 (and reinstall).

Well, I followed the instructions in NA to manually uninstall K8. I rebooted the machine. I then re-installed K8. The result looks exactly like the first picture in this post. FWIW K6 and K7 look exactly the same, i.e., there are only five libraries available.

The long and the short of it is: My Kontakt libraries are wholly unavailable to me.

Does anyone know how to put in a support ticket with NI? Do they even do that anymore?

    Thanks.

Sadly I suspect (from various reports in these days), that NI authorization system has issues.

To contact support, follow the instructions in this thread:

    One more minor update:

I was randomly trying to load libraries from the Library view in Kontakt. For the most part it went as described above and didn't work. However, for Slate & Ash's cycle, it sort of loaded…the graphics were a mess and the word DEMO was present. However, it did partially load. (Note the graphics were fine prior to all of this stuff happening.)

Wow. Thank you. This is exactly it. I've used CleanMyMac for a couple of years with no issues, but for the first time I let it delete/"clean" some files that I normally don't touch. Stupid me. I see from the other thread that the solution is to delete CleanMyMac then reinstall NI software. I have a couple of questions (e.g., re-install ALL NI software or just Kontakt), but I'll leave them in the other thread.

Thanks again for the helpful response!

re-install ALL NI software or just Kontakt

Quote Jeremy_NI : The solution is to uninstall CleanMyMac and reinstall any problematic software.

I have no Mac and all I can do is to advice as best I can based on the Knowledge that I've compiled here. But as far as I have understood then you need to re-install e.g. Kontakt libraries that you have problems with.
