Can I enable MIDI Mode on Mikro Mk3 without Maschine software?
I got a 2nd hand Maschine Mikro Mk3 with transfer code. It bound to my account but I don't see the software. It looks like it's a pretty wide spread issue recently. I am trying to confirm that the Mikro Mk3 is functional. It looks like you can put it into a MIDI Mode by holding the top left button while holding shift based on the manual. However, my Mikro doesn't change anything when I press the button combination. Does the Maschine software have to be running for it to switch to MIDI mode?
Right now the only things I see is the light up wave animation when I plug in the USB cable and then it goes dark and I just see "MASCHINE MIKRO" on the OLED display.
Is there any way I can validate the hardware is working?

I was able to get it into MIDI mode! Followed a Reddit post that recommended downloading Komplete Kontrol which let me put it into MIDI mode. At least I can see it sending MIDI in my DAWs

yeah , but you need to download controller editor first

I have that installed but connect is grayed out.
I don't know much about Maschine hardware, but I do see a DFU device in Device Manager. So I'm not sure if it's in a weird "Flash my firmware state" or something.
I also installed the Firmware Updater and it looks like it's running the current firmware and it's reachable that way:

It doesn’t connect with that button
It looks like it’s holding a template
Its hold shift and press the maschine logo (not hold ) , try that

Basically this happens when I plug in the USB cable:

And this is what I am doing to put it into MIDI mode:

go back to controller editor, on the right hand side , click edit , and then new , drag the new template to the top of the list , and close , now try

actually I think when that grey button is greyed out it’s not connected
I’ve only got a jam , but I can see that button is not greyed out
I used to have a mikro mk3 , was on the beta team for it years back , we actually got them to add midi mode as they wasn’t gonna bother
I’m not a windows user , but I’ll have a check to see if there’s any drivers

no drivers , hmmm , I’ve seen that dfu before , but I think if it’s bricked , it shows on the mikro screen

Now he's a bonus question. If I get the $30 Maschine 3 upgrade, will that actually work or will it fail since it won't see the Maschine 2 software in my account?

interesting question , you can see maschine 2 in your account , right , it just not showing in native access

I can see the Mikro Mk3 hardware, but not Maschine 2 software.

Yup, I plugged the transfer code into the website
