Why can't I see my Arturia products in Kontakt 8 while I do see them in Komplete Kontrol ?
Hi all. Newbie poster here who is fairly new to all of this so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere…
I have Komplete 15 and the latest version of Kontakt 8 which I am trying to get used to, having started off with Komplete Kontrol. I have a Mac Studio and the NI S88 Mk3.
In Komplete Kontrol (V3.3.4) I have over 60,000 presets which come from my NI, Spitfire, Heavyocity, Modartt and Arturia purchases. However, when I open Kontakt 8 (V8.1.0) i only have access to 29,500 presets as all of my Arturia (V Collection plus a few others) and my Modarrt purchases are missing. I have done all of the recommended checks I can find and ….
- All of my instruments and all my software is updated to the latest version.
- The "Third Party Resources" box was checked when I downloaded the V Collection and I have tried re-downloading the V Collection plug-ins
- I can see that both the VST 2 and VST 3 plug-ins are present on my external drive where I store all of my plug-ins.
- I have confirmed that Native Access, Kontakt 8 and Komplete Kontrol have full disk access on my Mac.
- I have tried deleting the Kontakt 8, database file (komplete.db3) so that the database is re-built
I purchased all of my Arturia products directly from their website and downloaded with the Arturia Software Centre. I don't, therefore, have any codes to enter in Native Access.
Arturia's technical help tells me that "Arturia instruments cannot be opened inside Kontakt as our instruments are not sample libraries but physical and circuit-modeled plug-ins (instruments)".
Is this correct? It seems strange that I can access and use all of the Arturia products (and Modarrt's Pianoteq 8) from Komplete Kontrol, but not from Kontakt 8. Is there a difference between the way that the latest KK and K8 operate? Am I missing something here or is this just the way it is?
Many thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, Kontakt is a sampler instrument that loads and builds sample libraries, it is not a plugin host. Arturia plugins, as the same suggests, are plugins, not sample libraries, so is Pianoteq. Kompete Kontrol and Maschine are the plugin hosts produced by NI.
