Connect new controller Z1 with software Traktor Pro 4 : HOW? Please guide me.

Hello, I have never connected an external controller to my software and I struggle. There is an article on native instruments that says that :

  1. Make sure that the Z1 MK2 is connected to the computer.
  2. Open the Z1 MK2 Firmware Updater by double-clicking the application icon / file.

=⇒ I have no idea to make sure z1 is connected. What is 'firmware?' Where is that icon?

I have a recent Mac book pro by the way. Thanks a lot.

    Connecting your Z1 Mk2 to your Mac is easy if you have the right cables. Just connect the Z1 Mk2 with a USB cable to your MacBook. You will need a USB-C to USB-B cable for that. It should light up when connected.

    Firmware is a part of software which is running on the device itself - in this case your Z1 Mk2. You can update that firmware with your Mac - if there is a newer one - while your Z1 is connected to your Mac. You'll find the updater at

    Scroll to the Z1 Mk2 section and download the Mac firmware updater. Run it while your Z1 Mk2 is connected.
