Possible to install K8 Player alongside K7 full version?

Can we install the free version of Kontakt 8 next to a full version 7 on our systems to explore what was made with version 8, without losing connection to version 7 for other libraries…?

yes you can I did the same, even tho I didn't have time to plat around with k8 yet.

Is it not messing up things when opening older projects with K7 instances?

Do you mean you’ve installed it but didn’t open it…? Did you test if K7 is still used as the instrument of choice when loading for instance a Live project that uses 7 instead of 8?

Exactly, that’s what I want to make sure, because I thought this problem with K7 wasn’t solved with K8. But I’m also not sure.

yes it all works fine for me, when I load old projects are always with K7 and I can use K8 when I want.
I did test it now, and it all works as it supposed to. (for me at least)

Okay, thanks for trying 👍🏻 In that case I can try some of the instruments with the free K8 player version without corrupting projects relying on K7.
