S-Series MK3 not Class Complient?
are thy not? And if so, why?
They are offered also as stand alone Mastetkeyboard. Now I want to use it with a new Midi Host Device (CME H4MIDI WC) in my setup, but it doesn't work, because of this message:
Device descriptor:
0x12, 0x01, 0x00, 0x02, 0xEF, 0x02, 0x01, 0x40, 0xCC, 0x17, 0x20, 0x21, 0x84, 0x01, 0x01, 0x02, 0x03, 0x01,
Configuration descriptor:
0x09, 0x02, 0x12, 0x00, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x80, 0xF0, 0x09, 0x04, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, Info: bInterfaceClass not USB_CLASS_AUDIO
Any idea how to solve the problem?

I thought it was? Certainly if I plug it into my iPad it works without needing additional drivers

What does the screen on the Mk3 say, Are you providing it enough power?
0 -
Yes it does need the independent power supply

Sorry, unfortunately I pressed "yes" at Skijumptoes post regarding power, and cannot make it unhappen: This is not the answer! My S88 does have enough power. @ Kymeia: Yes I know that with Ipad it works, and the IPad detects all three Ports. But makes this the s88 definitely to be class complient? If so, please confirm, then I will argue this with CME (because they sell their device with the promise to detect all class complient devices). But why does S88 send configuration description whitch sais the opposite? And why NI has no hint to be class compliant in every documentation for the S88 MK3?

Standalone mode always seems to mention the DIN MIDI ports rather than USB, and you're right there's no mention of Class Complaint on any of their product pages or documentation that I can see which is a red light.
I'm guessing the CME device will use some form of Linux, so it would be interesting if anyone has a Mk3 running on Linux without any additional software/drivers?
I'm sure that the Mk2 versions were made class compliant at a later date via firmware update, perhaps we've not reached that point in time with the Mk3 yet? We can't even use the MIDI ports when connected to a computer so clearly more work is needed.
It's odd that it works with iPads though, you're right that doesn't necessarily mean it is fully class compliant but that's normally a pretty good indicator.

Thanks for your frankly words. It would be no problem to use DIN5-Cable. But I like to use the encoder for some other controls. And unfortunately additionally to all that NI obviousely decided to make only one MIDI connection work at one time: Either the DIN5 Plug, or the USB-Connection 😞

This will change soon. @Chris_NI can keep you up to date on the progress, but this capability is already in beta.

Oh, and our Kontrol devices are absolutely class compliant

fine! and fine too! Thanks

Saying deviceS doesn’t sound correct to me.
Can you elaborate? Maschines are class compliant? All Traktor kontrollers are class compliant? All Audio interfaces?

With the iPad I'm using the USB connection, not tried it with the MIDI DIN

I use H4MIDI WC as an Midi Host/Router between several devices and an Ipad and Mac Mini. The host has DIN5 sockets.
Just for your info…

I forward this question from CME Support… hope you can answer positive….
Dear Peter,
Can you also ask NI if MK3 only support USB high speed? H4 support USB full speed for MIDI, so if they did not support full speed, they cannot work together. If it supports USB full speed too, we can find a way to make it compatible. Thanks.
