Selling Hardware/Software Bundle
I got the KOMPLETE 12 SELECT for S-SERIES when I bought the keyboard years ago.
My question is:
If I sell it, will the buyer get a free update to the latest version?
Because it is linked to S-Series. Native Instruments only says on the homepage:
You only have to unregister the hardware in your user account and will receive a License Transfer ID that you can pass to the new buyer. After the buyer has imported the License Transfer ID to their own account, they will receive the same software bundle as you, the original owner.

With Maschine then from what I have read then I think that people have had the old version of the software that originally came with the Maschine. I am not sure that it is the same case for the Kontrol S-Series keyboards , especially not since the Komplete Select that people are given for free when registering the keyboard to some extend is also a presentation of the lowest tier of the bundles that N.I. is selling. So immediately I would say that I think that people will get the latest version of Komplete Select but I couldn't say for sure and when I am asking such questions myself , even as a Moderator here , then I am always told to ask support. And since support always hold the final words in cases like that then for any confirmation then you will have to ask N.I. Account Support

I found another post where a user reported that his Komplete Select was automatically upgrated. Since then I suspect that this will also be the case here.

What you are referring to here is an entirely different question about which version of Komplete Select can be used as base for which version of upgrade. However the answer to the question remains the same , since again then not even as a Moderator here can I get a general answer to that question either. The answer to those questions are always the same : you will have to ask N.I. Account Support also with respect to if e.g. a newer version of Komplete Select can be used as base for an older version upgrade from Select to …..
