Can I move .nkx files to another directory?

As the title says. I want to move these huge files out of my "documents" folder on the C: drive because they're hogging space and I can't install other content (to say nothing of being able to install anything else that automatically goes to C:).

Can they be moved somewhere else such as the drive that I use to hold my content?

Thanks!

You can move your Kontakt libraries without any issues, but not individual files—move the entire folder. Afterwards, you need to update the location in Native Access.

My libraries are all stored on an external drive but there are .nkx files on my C:\ drive in the documents folder that are taking up space. I want to know if I can move these somehwere.

This is how I would do it.

Choose a set of samples (nkx) to move. Copy the folder to your desired location.

Rename the original folder (e.g. put a x on the end of the name.)

Try to load the instrument. When Kontakt can't find the samples, direct it to the new location.

If it works, save the instrument with the newly located samples - to be safe, using a different name (e.g. x on the end of the name). Repeat with any other instrument using those samples.

If you're confident everything is working 100%, you can now delete the original folder.
