Having troubles getting an audio signal from my vinyl player to Maschine 3 Software

Hi,

I just purchased my first Vinyl Player an Audio Technica AT-LP60X. I'm trying to record a sample from vinyl into the software. However, I'm receiving no audio signal, I am running an M-Audio Fast Track Pro Audio Interface. I am able to record through Logic but I'm not able to record the vinyl sample through Maschine. Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it?

Most (if not all) decent turntables need a premap/receiver etc to get the level up the spec.

But I do see this one has switchable output - you might need to switch it to Line level output.

Thanks, I have it switched to line, I'm currently using akai beats instead and it works similar to logic. Not sure what is going on..

How is it all connected? I'm guessing the turntable output goes to the inputs of the Fast Track Pro, which is connected to the computer, and you have selected the Fast Track Pro as input in the software?

Correct, the turntable output goes to the inputs of the Fast Track Pro connected to the computer, Fast Track Pro is selected as the input as well.

I think that if you follow this article step by step you will solve your problem:

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210278285-How-to-Record-an-External-Audio-Signal-with-MASCHINE-2

Some of the things you’ll find there that could be the cause:

Did you check under settings the routings? (Maschine calls them Maschine In 1 L and 1 R, 2 L and 2 R, … but then you have to check what is assigned for 1L and 1 R, 2 L and 2 R, …)

If in Sample Editor you choose Input 1 L and 1 R, those must be the ones receiving from your audio interface correct channels (see picture for an example)

In Sample Editor, are you sure External is selected as the source?

Also…while you are under Sample Editor, do you see the meters at the bottom moving? In that case, the signal is coming in, but you can’t hear it if monitoring is disabled (it’s just underneath).
