How to setup the sustain pedal with kontakt player 7

Hello I`m working with studio one, kontakt player 7, a kawai c270 with midi plug and I tried to setup the sustain pedal. The sustain pedal was not working so I tried to setup an automation and put it on write. I`m not sure if I set it up properly becaus I have issiues now. So when I play everything is Ok but when I listen to it afterwards its like if someone is holding the sustain pedal constantly over the whole song. So its not working correctly. So I found a video how to set up the sustain pedal with komplete kontrol. But I`d rather make it work with kontakt Player 7 because I don`t want to spend another 300 Bucks on Software. So now the Question. Is it even possible to handle that issue with kontakt player? And how do I do it?

Solved it in Komplete Kontrol at least. Had Tip to CC64, but ring was CC65. Changing it to 64 also made it activate.

You shouldn't need additional software to setup a sustain pedal. The Kawai C270 seems to be a digital piano. It could mean that the implementation is different than with other keyboards, please refer to the manual of that keyboard. Kontakt, or any other software instrument should listen to MIDI CC64 for sustain. Maybe first try to set it up in Kontakt in standalone.

I am using Kontakt Player today. All is well at last, Next step: connect foot switch. Under the Midi Automation list, it triggers as CC 65 when depressed, so its definatly live, however it does not connect to the instruments. It says 'not assigned', but the orange light does blip on and off. How do I get it to activate or assign? Nothing works, no left or right click etc. (Windows 11).

What's your operating system? What DAW are you using? What kind of keyboard do you have? Model/brand?

HI, Windows 11, using Kontakt Player stand-alone in desktop mode.

The keyboard: NI Komplete A-49. One cable for midi, one standard 1/4 jack for a foot pedal.

If it's a Komplete Kontrol keyboard, then you shouldn't have to set anything up in Kontakt.

    What pedal model is it?

You need to persuade your pedal to send cc#64, not cc#65. You can configure cc#64 in Instrument Options.

There is no set-up for a footswitch in Kontakt or Player. Set it up the other day in Komplete Kontrol and they worked in both Kontakt and PLayer; today, not so.

I think it is not a Kontakt Issiue. It is something with my Studio One. It is working perfect with logic. I think I changed something in Studio one… like I touched a button that I should have left alone… I think maybe reseting the daw might bring it back in order… since I had that issue with other players in studio one too…

If it's only in Studio O ne, then yes it's most probably a setting there. Check with Presonus resource on how to reset preferences to default.
