Traktor Pro 4: Remix Decks starts randomly
Hi everybody!
I'm new in the Remix Decks, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I have 4 One-Shots in my Remix Deck. I could happen, when I fire one Shot, suddendly another Shot starts also. Sometimes it happens that a sample starts without me pressing anything. It just starts…
I work with Kontrol S4 MK3 / Traktor Pro 4.1
Sorry, for my english… ;-)
Cheers, Alex

Didn't happen to me so far. Can you make a video recording of this phenomenon?

The button itself can send "ghost messages" if it is faulty. This means it would also trigger a hotcue if you had the hotcue pad mode selected.
My question would be: Is it always the same sample cell that get triggered automatically?0 -
Hello, I noticed that too. The last update fixed the old errors in the remix decks and created new ones.

Thanks guys for your anweres!
@Stevan, No, it's not always the same slot. Sometimes several slots are fired…
@Mathias68, I have the newst Update installed. But I can not see any difference

Do you have any other mappings installed in the controller manager that could conflict? Or is it just an S4 TSI?

No, it's just S4…

Ok we eliminated the possibility of other TSI being an issue here. Does the same happen if you disconnect the S4? And does the same happen when you leave say Hotcues mode on?

I think I found the "problem" :-)
I load my Remix Set on Drive C. If I fire one or more one-shots, deck C starts to run and the shots are audible. Till now, I always stopped deck C after the one-shots are finished. If then deck C starts again, all one-shots runs again in the same order like before…. I thought that if a one-shot runs once, it's finished. But I have to stop each one-shot explicitly, right? Or I have to keep deck C running all the time…
Is that correct, and if yes, how do you handle this for best practice?

Keep the remix deck running. Or when you stop it, don't use CUE to do it, as it returns the deck to a point of the timeline where the triggered one-shots have not yet played and, once the timeline reaches the point where you triggered them, they get retriggered. Use PLAY/PAUSE to stop the deck if you have to.
You can also map the stop command 4 times (once for each slot) on top of the CUE button (uncheck override check-box). In that case you have to recreate the deck switch overlay with a modifier skeleton and use those as modifier conditions so your overmapping knows when to trigger them and for what deck.
Check my S4 mod link in my sig to find a premade modifier skeleton you can use for this purpose if you are so inclined.
But really, the easiest way is to not stop the remix deck using CUE and to not go back to the start of the timeline using SHIFT+CUE even if you keep it running.

Yes, I think also the easiest way is to let the deck running or stop it using Play/Pause….
Thanks guys for helping me! :-)
