Komplete Kontrol doesn't open instruments in Sonoma?

I am using a Kontrol S61N MK3 controller on my Mac using Sonoma OS - when I load Komplete Kontrol in my DAW, I see all the instruments on the screen of the 61N and can use the scroll wheel to preview sounds. When I use the knob to navigate to each individual instrument and press the scroll wheel, the instruments don't open and I get the following error message (attached). Its for every instrument - none of them open. I don't know if its because I'm on Sonoma OS and that functionality is not supported, or if something else is wrong.  I can open all the instruments in Kontakt and they work fine. At this point, Komplete Kontrol doesn't offer any usable functionality for me.

    Do you have the VST3 version of Kontakt installed?

    Komplete Kontrol is for when you want to use plugins other than Kontakt

    yes, I'm using the VST3 version. What SHOULD I be able to do in Komplete Kontrol?

    Or maybe I can just do everything in Kontakt 8 and don't need KK at all?

    However, no plugins will load in Komplete Kontrol - I always get that error message saying it doesn't support Apple Silicon ( I am using an M1 based Mac Studio). I thought it was now compatible with Apple Silicon.
