Komplete Kontrol not loading plugins in Logic Pro X, I have done everything that NI website tells you to do regarding VST3 and VST folders and deleting the Komplete Kontrol folder but nothing works. It works in standalone mode but not in DAW application. My hardware is Mac Studio M2 Max running latest Sonoma software and an 88mk2 Komplete keyboard. There seems to be an issue with Native Access also, see pictures. Help!!!!!!

Cheers

    It’s Fixed!!

I rescanned Komplete Kontrol in Logic and there were no plugins showing, once scanned everything was as it should be and it works fine now. Like an idiot I’d rescanned the standalone plugin, DAH!!!

Thanks for all your help and patience, a newbie mistake.

Regarding the issue with Komplete Kontrol. Do Komplete Kontrol, Logic and Native Access while we're at it have full disk access? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

In some cases hitting rescan here when inside Logic can help too:

And for the issue with Native Access, what is the actual issue? I don't really see anything special in the pic you posted.

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your reply. I’ve done all the rescans and nothing I do changes anything. The issue, if it is, with native access is in the picture some plugins say ‘Open’ while others just installed, I don’t ever remember access behaving like that before and wondered if it was part of the issue.
    Thanks

You can open standalone products (eg Kontakt) - you can't directly open libraries (because those are meant to load in an app or plugin, such as Kontakt, they don't exist functionally on their own) or plugins that don't have a standalone version like Massive X

What instruments are you trying to load in Logic that gives you that error message? I'm wondering if the presets are for things you haven't installed (eg PRIS is a FM8 patch - have you installed that? - and I'm not sure what that Megamagic thing even is but it doesn't look like a library that would support NKS)

Hi Kymeia, I’ve tried a variety of plugins but they all come up with the same message. The plugin will audition the preset but as soon as I try to load it the error message comes up. Every plugin is installed, in theory it should all work but it doesn’t. I understand about your point about how the libraries work within the plugin.

    Thanks

Good, which is why it's important to know what you are trying to load, different problems, different solutions.

Thanks Kymeia, this really is a difficult one to figure out because it should all work, the plugins are in the VST3/VST folders so I can’t see what’s stopping them loading in Logic. The standalone works fine to.

    Thanks

Well for a start anything in the VST folder will not load in Logic unless it is in Rosetta mode

If you can give some examples of what is not working it may be possible to narrow it down further

Ah! I’m not in Rosetta mode. How do I change that?

Right click on the Logic app icon/get info and click the run in Rosetta tab (assuming you have Rosetta installed)

However you would be better off in the long run switching to VST3 versions as much as possible as VST2 is deprecated on Mac

Thanks, as I remember I moved away from Rosetta sometime ago as the new updates were rolled out but I’ll give ago and see what happens. It still doesn’t answer the main question of what’s causing the problem in the first place.

    Thanks again

It may answer it for any VST2 plugins, if there are also VST3 plugins involved then give some examples and we can hopefully figure it out

Sorry but just to be sure, you have tried the rescan of Komplete Kontrol when loaded inside Logic? Do you see any plug-ins in the manager (screenshot i posted)?

    Hi Jeremy,

I’ve just done a rescan with Komplete Kontrol on in Logic and rescan from Komplete Kontrol standalone, hope that’s what you meant. It didn’t change anything but thanks for suggesting it. I’m happy to try anything.
    Many thanks

    Hi All,

I have just turned on Rosetta and everything is now working like normal, everything plays!
