How to Record Maschine Mk3 in Reaper the same as Komplete Kontrol

Hi, I'm using reaper,

I insert virtual instrument in new track choosing VSTi Komplete Kontrol, find a sound I like, arm the track, hit record, play native instr keyboard and everything is fine. I can see the notes, play back the recording, edit them etc. Great.

I do the same as above choosing VSTi Maschine 2, browse for sounds on Maschine Mk3 find a sound I like, arm the track, hit record, play the pads (which I can hear and see the track meter in reaper rising) but nothing records. Its just a blank recording, no notes or anything.

I've spent a couple of weeks trying to figure this out, searching forums, going through settings but I'm still completely lost.

Does anyone know why they don't work the same?

Any tips, solutions or help would be great

Have a look at this thread from the old forum, look for the posts by @D-One (the consummate authority on Maschine DAW integration IMHO) there is a post on how to configure Maschine/Reaper to record Midi from Maschine. Basically you have to record the midi Output of the Maschine plugin.

Thanks for the reply, I had seen that thread before but it's a bit beyond my understanding.

I'm new to all this midi stuff, I found this Recording MIDI Notes in your DAW from MASCHINE - YouTube

I'll come back to that thread link when I've had a bit more experience.
