Buying a new Traktor Kontrol s4 mk2 from eBay. Does it comes with software?

I am thinking of buying a new Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 off ebay, but IDK if it comes with software. I also had a few more questions, like if it does come with software, which one would I get, and if it doesn't, what software should I buy and where would I find it?

    If you purchase from the original buyer, or a if the chain of custody of the software has been handed off properly, you should be able to have the seller hand the software license over to you even before you get the hardware.

    They'll need to go into their NI account at the website and click a few things.

    According to the thread starter we are talking about a S4 Mk2 - I doubt that this unit will be really brand new and unused. Still possible though. But even in that case I am pretty sure it won't bring a Traktor Pro 4 licence. Mk2 is so old I would expect it to still come with a licence for Traktor Pro 2 to be honest. S4 Mk2 was released in late 2013 more than 10 years ago. Traktor Pro 3 was released in October 2018 with S4 Mk3 following short after it. A Mk2 unit will - as long as the original owner doesn't sell any paid updates with it - feature a TP3 licence at best.

    @flynnPav Contact the seller and ask if the unit comes with original licence. Usually the owner has to obtain a licence transfer ID for the S4 unit in his/her NI account. With this transfer ID you will get the same software package which was originally included at time of first sale of that unit.

    If it is new and sealed you will have Traktor Pro 4 if it still has an old license the support can update it to Pro 4.

    If it is from a private person then nobody here can answer that for you, then you should ask the seller if he has already activated the license, ask what Traktor version and if he can transfer it.
