Zebra2 and KK
hey folks… I have a new 61 key KK keyboard mk3 … everything is up to date. Trying to run Zebra2 inside KK and I'm getting a strange error message concerning vst2 and vst3 migration.
I am at a loss.

that worked !!!! scanning the plugins via the KK plugin is what did the trick, thank you guys.
Now after all that, the integration is more than underwhelming. When I turn the knobs on my KK the main window is not affected visually… I have to go into the XY1,XY2,XY3 and XY4 windows to see what's going on…. is that correct?

Rescan all plugins then rescan database

Only the Zebra VST2 plugin is NKS compatible. The Zebra VST3 is not.
And since Mac no longer supports VST2 natively via Apple silicon (I believe) - you may have to run Rosetta mode to pick these up etc.
Not a Mac user but I know there was some trick to getting this going.

Not true - Zebra 2 VST3 is NKS compatible but unless the plugins are fully rescanned the NKS presets still 'expect' to use the VST2 version
btw don't try switching to Rosetta mode because if you do you will have to rescan them all again when switching to native

Settings/Library/Rescan

btw all u-he plugins support migration now - even the ones that don't officially support NKS like Bazille and ACE, which means all the NKS patches for u-he plugins we made ages ago, and that are in the NKS User Library Legacy section, now also work with the VST3 versions - you just need the latest u-he public betas for those

just outta curiosity… why is my vst 2 folder empty?

That I don't know but you couldn't use them on Apple Silicon anyway without Rosetta
afaik this is the last release by u-he that will install VST2 on Mac (maybe Win too?)

I have done everything I've been asked to do …. still I get the migration issue. The stand alone version of KK loads the zebra 2 patches just fine, but not the plugin inside of studio one 7…. also in Logic Pro 11 it didn't load the zebra 2 patches

The plugin versions also need to do a rescan

Not according to uHE. When I built my new DAW (Windows) on Feb 1, 2024 - I wanted a primary directive of only using VST3 - across the board and avoiding VST2 100%
When it came time to install Zebra - I started with VST3 only. Then spent at least an hour messing around with it trying to figure out why it was not appearing as a selectable instrument with KK v2.9.6/S-Series MKII.
I trashed and rescanned the DB numerous time with no luck. It was only when I reran Zebra setup and added the VST2 back in - and then rescanned again - was Zebra available via KK.
I even posted my concerns to the actual u-He forum on KVR and they even admitted as much:
Status of U-He NKS Support as of today - u-he Forum - KVR Audio
The OP is using Mac so my use case might be different - but I can tell you with 100% certainty that o Windows with KK v2.9.6 - Zebra VST3 (by itself) is not NKS compliant.

That looks fine. But S1 is not the issue.
You need to rescan IN Komplete Kontrol. (See under Preferences→Library→Rescan)
