Komlplete Kontrol Keyboard MK 2 does not recognise Maschine 2 software properly

I’m using my Komplete Kontrol Keyboard MK2 to control the Maschine 2 software in Ableton 12. Unfortunately, this function only works when the plugin is currently open. If I leave the Maschine 2 track and come back later, the Komplete Kontrol Keyboard MK2 no longer recognizes the Maschine 2 software! Why is this happening? Can anyone help me out? I’m actually quite experienced, but I’m stuck here.
