Upgrade K6 > K8, multi-outs-cofiguration (and library)
Hi,
in short… It took me a long time to create multi-out presets especially for my drum machines (forgotten keys, stock library).
- Will they work in 8 or do I have to re-create them (please not!!!)?
- They have been saved as Track Templates in REAPER, perfect multi-outs in tracks, all ready-to start…will they perform?
- Do the vintage drum machines still exist in lib.2?
- Might it be a good idea to keep K6 WITHOUT its library (save space)?
Thanks!

@w2privat I'll try to answer your question as best as I can.
1 and 2:
Reaper doesn't support VST3 plugin migration so these wouldn't convert automatically. However, if those track templates have been created with Kontakt 6 VST3, you can actually manually edit them in a text editor and replace Kontakt.vst3 with Kontakt 8.vst3 and the appropriate plugin ID, and that should work. You might get more info on Reaper forums.
3:
The Kontakt Factory Library 2 contains most of the previous versions. And you can also open your old libraries in the new Kontakt.
4:
Because there is no auto-migration in Reaper, you should keep Kontakt 6 to open the projects where you used it.
I hope that helps.
