M32 compatibility with Kontakt 8

Why M32 is not mapped to Kontakt 8??????? Leap is only for Kontrol MK3? C'mon that's ******!

M32 is not a Kontrol MK3 board.
FWIW - I do not get anything fancy on my S61 MKII either.
These boards are 5-7 years old now. Not totally unexpected.VP

And no new M32 MK2 hardware to upgrade to either. No logic tbh.
In my opinion the older keyboards should be supported longer.

M32 should work with Komplete Kontrol 3 though, it is mapped to the Leap Macros

My guess we should see a new M32 soon, maybe next year? Maybe an M37 too? Prefer M37.
On my wishlisht: Lightguide, CV, Gate and Clock and step sequencer. Would love to see bluetooth MIDI and rechargeable battery too. That would make the M-series more practical for laptop use, going after the Arturia Keystep, while still being compatible with Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol.

Matthew from NI last year had hinted at a release of a controller keyboard that’s is more than 25 and less than 49 keys (so 32 or 37 keys I assume), therefore I am still hoping that something like that will be released soon for those travelling and not wanting/able to take a heavy s49/61 mk3 with them.
They d have to fix the inability to have 2 simultaneous keyboards at the same time mind you…. @mattHew_NI is a dual controller simultaneous use update in the cards at all?

Running two M-series keyboards at once is a no brainer.
I am speculating they may have a full expressive MPE keyboard in the works. Maybe call it X-series?
Chaining a smaller MPE (X-series) keyboard with a regular M-series sounds like a smart combo for the NI software to support too. Load different sounds on each and play them both at the same time.
But again, won't buy any new hardware until basic stuff is fixed in Kontakt 8 and GUI scaling upgrades are planned on previously released libraries.

Maybe not unexpected, but then not exactly considerate. Given that the MKII keyboards are not exactly cheap, 5–7 years is relatively new to a lot of people. Given that support has already ended for the MK1, one does wonder just how long before the same happens for MKII.

And people keep their hardware synths way longer. Midi-controllers should have a 10+ years lifecycle minimum, preferably longer.
Softube still supports Console 1 MK1 which was released like 10 years ago. So locking out hardware where there is no obvious explanation is a bad practice.
Compete with new hardware features instead, support old hardware as long as possible.

Haha NI was my most loved company and now its totally opposite :D Even Reason Studios looks more friendly.
If support for Kontakt8 will be not available for M32 im not gonna buy any new hardware. Just no. Forcing user to have only new things is same as subscription model - not for me. I like to handle hardware long, planet need more long term products.

Didn't say I was happy about it. But what is complaining about it going to do?
That train left the station long ago.
At least KK v3 works with this board - but I still do not use it.

Sadly, in this case, possibly very little in actuality, but people have the chance to use 'get out clause' of, 'Oh we never knew' if you never point out your dissatisfaction.

M32 works with Kontakt 8 the same way it has with Kontakt 7 and those before it: via Komplete Kontrol

The A, M and SMK2 series are all still supported.

I know you can run them via Komplete Kontrol but not Kontakt. Big template users tend to use Kontakt first without having to mess with their templates and add Komplete Kontrol. The point is there is no explanation why the second gen controllers (A, M and S MK2) are shut out of Kontakt without Komplete Kontrol, more than NI want to sell new third gen S MK3 controllers. That is the complaint.
