When Will Logic Chord Track Be Supported?

I like using the new Chord Track in Logic 11 to create chord progressions. Either to create a backing track for practice or a new original composition.

With Logic's own instruments (have to be careful not to call them native instruments…) I just drag and drop the chords from the Chord Track to an Instrument Track and it plays them.

However, with Kontakt 7 it confuses the instructions to play chords to instructions to set the strumming pattern (in the case of Electric Mint). This is very annoying.

What's worse is that you cannot set strumming patterns to all notes (chords) as that would fix the problem. Now it changes the strumming pattern only on certain chords.

So, how do you separate setting the strumming pattern from playing the chords? And why does it change the strumming pattern when it is given chords, not single notes?

I was very excited to get the Komplete 14 bundle, but because of this issue I have not used it, because it is too cumbersome to have to create everything Kontakt vs in Logic.

I had an issue similar, but then purchased the S88 keyboard, making the playability to happen by holding down and recording the appropriate trigger key for that]y particular pattern you wanna use.

    Hello,

this is normal and no fault of the instrument, why would you use a chord track for an instrument with chords or phrases, that of course wont work or can produce strange sometimes interesting sounds, you then have to use the melody instrument and all notes have to be from c2 on. It´s the same in all daws with chord tracks/assistants, like in my case cubase for example.

Hello - The point is to quickly create chord progressions. As mentioned this method works on Logic's instruments and I see no reason why NI could not support it too.

In the meanwhile I did find a workaround for the problem, which is to delete the bottom notes of the chords that get generated from the Chord Track. They are in the register that controls the NI patterns.

That still leaves the full triad (in case of three note chords) and actually sounds better on the guitar (Electric Mint) since the awkward bass note (in the bass guitar register, I think) is eliminated.

Thanks - Yeah, I'm starting to realize that getting the most out of Kontakt may require an NI hardware purchase, which I was hoping to avoid because they are huge and I have limited desk space. And because the whole point was to be able to program the chords and strumming patterns in without having to "play" them. IDK. It's just disappointing
