I cannot "uninstall" Kontakt 7 from Native Access - it seems no one else can either...
Hi, I just purchased an upgrade to Kontakt 8 (full) and installed it OK using Native Access (on macOS Sequoia). Of course I want to uninstall Kontakt 7 (full) now.
Native Access, as you all know, offers NO WAY to uninstall Kontakt 7 (or presumable any other NI apps; it does let me uninstall content data) - NI instead gives me a list of folders and files to remove manually. Since I'm a comp sci I have no issues doing that (although it seems pretty poor for such expensive, high-end software).
The problem is that, once I remove all trace of Kontakt 7 and re-boot my Mac, upon starting Native Access again I still get Kontakt 7 listed in my "installed" products, saying that I need to "repair" it because it's no longer in it's installation folder (/Applications/Native Instruments/Kontakt 7). Of course it's not there! You told me to remove the app!!
I have performed "repair" (ie. reinstall) and removal 3 times now with the same result.
Searching this forum I cannot find a solution to this.
I logged a problem report with NI and got a "zero-out-of-ten" helpfulness response, referring me to the same instructions (video and web page) that I had already followed to remove Kontakt 7.
I can't believe how poor this actually is. How can professional musicians rely on stuff like this? Can anyone reading this at NI please stop what you are doing and FIX Native Access?
I attach screenshots that show both versions of Kontakt installed OK (they both worked fine), then the "repair" message I get once I delete the Kontakt 7 app (and support files).

Agree, is not possible that a so essential part of Native world is not working or poorly working. We can open a petition "Native Instruments make a working in stable and easy manner of Native Access please".

Hello all,
I have good news, mostly. NI support got back to me and insisted that if all the Kontakt 7 files are deleted then it should not show in Native Access for repair. I had an idea…
I uninstalled "Kontakt Factory Library 2" (this may not be necessary) and then searched for and removed every file on macOS containing "kontakt" in its name. Note that this is what NI instruct you to do, but this time I removed all the Kontakt 8 files as well. Be sure to check the macOS volume including the /Users/Shared folder, as well as any external SSDs with the huge data files. After doing this, logging out/in and restarting Native Access it told me that neither Kontakt 7 nor 8 were installed. Excellent! I have now re-installed Kontakt 8 OK and am re-downloading the rather large Kontakt Factory Library 2 (I only uninstalled this in order to remove every "kontakt" file, so you might not need to do this).
Please note that NI told me that their software is NOT yet compatible with macOS "Sequoia" (although it seems to work OK for me).

Haven't tried uninstalling Kontakt 7 yet, built a new template instead of trying migration by installing. I want the tech to mature more. But I really don't understand why Native Access 2 do not have basic working uninstall buttons. It has been years and NI tech debt is huge in the most basic areas.
Becoming a bigger fan of Arturia over NI products for every year I see this mess with NI software management (Arturia have uninstall buttons in their software).
Kontakt should also have a migration button beside the uninstall button or something similar if you own a newer version to trigger migration in templates where you have the older version of Kontakt. That way the UX is more clear.
