As a newbie to this can anyone help with guidance on loading up instruments on my external SSD and then purging them in Kontakt 7 this saves on CPU apparently?

Kind Regards people!

Asked this same question a while back. Answer: Native Instruments frowns on your taking products and loading them to extenal drives. Like you, I wanted to save space because the products are now using huge amounts of disk space. Alternative - buy their products loaded on their hard drives at whatever they charge.

    Hi Rembi

Thanks for your swift reply, sounds expensive as I'm only at the "hobby" stage at the moment. I came across this when viewing a Thinkspace Education video that Guy Michelmore had posted where he does what I'm asking so it seems strange that NI take this view when the Purge facility is on Kontakt?

    Many thanks Rembi

Native Instruments DOES let you install its Libraries and Sound Banks in addition to the Presets on External Hard Drives, whether SSD or HDD.

There is a guide on how to do it if you go to the NI Home page, then select the SUPPORT Tab at the top, and there then select SOFTWARE, then select KONTAKT, and search for what you need to know.

For your convenience, I leave you a couple of links to see if they help you.
