For all those who having a hard time with Kontakt 8…. Using Mac OS 14 on M2 Max Pro.

So i discovered the same problems like many of you before… My solution was to completely uninstall all Native Products and make a clean install again.. I also moved library from shared to my user as i only need it there. It is important to follow uninstall rules like described in Native Access,.. Remove all .plists and so on… It´s very important that you find alll related files !!!! After this YOU HAVE TO MAKE A RESTART ::::: Then do a clean install. In my case this was the working solution. Hope this helps anybody who experiences a hard time with kontakt 8 or other new Native Products. Chears Mike.

Same here Mike. I followed the NA uninstall procedure, but that wasn't enough. I searched the Library and System files and /usr/ and /var/ for anything Kontakt, Komplete, and Native instruments, deleted it all (do at your own risk). While this fixed it crashing in the daw after a reinstall, it still panic'd my mac and rebooted stand alone. That turned out to be me running my monitor at 120 hz. Dropped it to 60 hz, and things work (for now). I believe the original problem was that I had Kontakt 5 installed, and after installing Kontakt 8, they just weren't compatible. Nothing was working, daw or stand alone. Support was beyond useless, started out telling me it was my FocusRite, so I disconnected that entirely. Perhaps that was also crashing it. The software seems unreasonably prone to failure. Support just kept asking for crash logs and telling me to reinstall.

that’s interesting and might as well be the case for me. I have a new 120 hz monitor, but than again I don’t want to have all of that changed just to make it work for NI. It’s a pain I never had with any other software. In my case I wait for an hopefully working update. I switched all my work to other plugins and let’s see how long NI takes to adjust this.

@mhomm We're currently investigating the issue, we would like to gather more information, it would be good for us to check if this is related to the refreshing rate. I will contact you by email if that's ok for you. We'll need some crashlogs too. Could you at least try with a 60Hz setting and see if the crashes stop? This will give us a good indication.

We're investigating the issue, it's not always evident to reproduce these crashes on our end, here we can see a pattern, same Dell monitor and refresh rate for another user, that's progress. Thanks for the information, that has put us in the right direction.

@Supernat I've reached out by email. To investigate this issue, that seems related to this Dell monitor we need more info from you but you didn't reply there nor here. First you say we're beyond useless and then you don't reply. I'm a little confused.

    hi jeremy, hi guys.

I just wanted to let you know. I have lowered my framerate to 60Hz and all is working for me again. So the issues for me is the monitor and the framerate.

I hope you got my email @jeremy. Thank you for your help.
