My kontakt 8 is constatly crashing the moment I load the plugin. It's freezing and the Mac Studio is restarting. Everything else is working fine just Kontakt. Anybody has a solution?

    Without a readout of what you are using it will be tough to assist

    OS?

    Version of Native Access?

    Loading the plugin in what DAW - exactly?

    I am using Ableton 12 (latest version ) and OSX 15.0, Native Access 3.14.0 I installed all Items on my Mac Studio M2 Ultra from Komplete 15. Ever since a bunch of NI programs crash my hole System.

    (Also if i Load Kontakt 8 standalone btw. its also crashing)

    Today i opend a older project, its was playing ok, when i opend RAUM the revb plugin the audio was freezing and the hole computer shut down and restarted. I did a test today and loaded ALL plugins on my system (one after another) and i had several crashes only when i open NI plugins.

    Hope there is a fix soon i cant work on anything like this until its fixed.

    Well - for one thing - OSX 15 is not supported whatsoever - on any NI product and possibly not for your other apps either like Ableton etc.

    And because you have that on your machine - your whole machine is unsupported for an NI standpoint.

    A first gentle suggestion to consider a roll back of the OS so you can at least get support from NI if needed.

    The update was done before the release of Komplete 15. Yeah i saw that after the release. I cant roll back with out clean istall so nothing else to do than wait for an update.

    Just as a comparison - it took NI about 3-5 months to declare their apps tested and supported under Sonoma last fall.

    If you are hoping for a quick update - or actual "official" Sequoia support - you may be waiting a long while.

    Hopefully not as long as last year - but no one knows for sure.

    yeah i get that but nothing i can do for now. I cant roll back my Studio Mac so i have to wait and use alternative plugins till hopefully we have a update.

    At this point - you have no idea if it's just Kontakt acting up or your OS causing Kontakt to act up. Or both

    Pretty sure that first Kontakt 8 update will be out soon enough but if it still isn't certified under Sequoia - that still leaves you unsupported. And possibly dealing with crashes etc.

    Would probably take you a day to rollback and be on your way with everything working normally on Ventura or Sonoma.

    Anyway - good luck.

    I'm using macOS Monterey and Kontakt 8 crashes, stand alone and with Ableton 12 too.

    Same here, Kontakt 8 stand alone kernel panics (reboots) my Mac Studio M2 OS 14.6.1. It crashes Cubase if I load it there. This is likely a widespread issue. I disconnected all I/O, changed my monitor to HDMI, tried lower resolutions, etc. No change. I have an open ticket with support.

    I have no issues with my M1 Max laptop though

    Same here, Kontakt 8 is crashing

    • Windows 11
    • Ryzen 9 5900x

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Hi, i found that kontakt 8 will drop even if there is no action at all. I just leave it on and it turns off after a while. The system does not crash, only Kontakt 8. I use MacOs 12.7.5. Mac Studio M1 Ultra 2022 64GB RAM.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks Ondra Skoch

    My Kontakt 8 was crashing Ableton 12.0.x on MacOS 14.7. I diagnosed the following error written out when I ran the standalone application from Terminal:

    -> % /Applications/Native\ Instruments/Kontakt\ 8/Kontakt\ 8.app/Contents/MacOS/Kontakt\ 8
    [2024-09-27 12:20:35.764] [info] initializing... 2024-09-27 12:20:35
    libc++abi: terminating due to uncaught exception of type boost::filesystem::filesystem_error: boost::filesystem::create_directories: Permission denied [system:13]: "/Users/Shared/Native Instruments/installed_products", "/Users/Shared/Native Instruments/installed_products"
    [1] 1554 abort

    In Finder I used "Get Info" on "/Users/Shared" and I made sure my user or everyone had Read & Write priveleges. Even if it looks right here, you need to cascades the permissions down. So click the padlock to unlod, and then on the "…" in a circle press the "Apply to enclodes items…"

    This will fix this problem. I re-ran Kontakt 8 after this and it works for me now. Hope this fixes your issues.
