Kontakt 7 doesn't recognize installed NI libraries even tho' Native Access says "installed"

I noticed an error today when opening up a project in Cubase that I haven't touched in several months. There were lots of Kontakt errors complaining that 40K files couldn't be found. I manually resolved by locating the libraries. However, when I open Kontakt from a instrument track (NI Session Guitarist - Picked Acoustic), the usual interface didn't load properly and indicated the instrument is in DEMO mode. I unloaded the instrument and tried to reload the library. I couldn't find it in the library menu. I tried the Files menu, browsed to the drive location and received an error that the library is not activated. See attached screenshots. Native Access seems to see all my libraries fine and indicates they are installed. Kontakt standalone can properly load the instrument and play it.

How do I get the Kontakt plugin to see the same libraries and Native Access or the standalone Kontakt version? Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

At first glance - this version of Kontakt looks really old. What version are you running?

The most recent version of Kontakt 7 has a vastly different UI - with redesigned menus etc - like this:

And - an instrument like Picked Acoustic - does not load via the Files area as shown in your screencap - it loads via the Rack view (Libraries) as shown above (2)

What OS are you running? And post up the version of Native Access you have installed as well

    VP,

Thanks for your response. It helped me realize that this Cubase project was created before Kontakt 7 came out and installed on my system. When I open the track in question that is using NI Picked Acoustic and edit the instrument, Kontakt 6 is actually the plugin version that is displayed. However, there is no instrument loaded in that plugin instance. It cannot see Picked Acoustic as an instrument library in the library menu, which was the point of my earlier post. I guess I thought Kontakt 7 would be the plugin version that would be used since I installed it a few months ago. Clearly not the case. Interestingly, other Kontakt 6 instances in the project play correctly so not sure how the problematic track got screwed up or why Kontakt 6 can't see the libraries I originally used in this project. Another wasted afternoon of troubleshooting problems instead of making music.

    Thanks anyway,

Present version of Session Guitarist - Picked Acoustic says (in section At a Glance) to need Free KONTAKT PLAYER version 7.6 and higher, or KONTAKT version 7.6 and higher,

If you are using Kontakt 6 then you will probably have to use the old version of the library instead if you have updated it. Ref. : Previous versions of recently updated Kontakt libraries / compatibility with K6 older libraries .
