Parameter Lock - the elektron way

Probably known, but still worth mentioning.

In the world of sampled drum loops - being able to cook your own beat from single shots is a valuable, but difficult art to excel at.

To get interesting and variated feel to the loop - I usually build my beats using the step sequencer on the machine, and then hold down the pads altering parameters like sample rate/bit rate, filter, envelope release, sample reverse, modulation amount (i.e. lfo) and pitch to let the drums "sing" in the beat. This can either be radical changes with pitching of several semi notes, high resonance filter - or just slight pitching to simulate "unstable" sound.

this is something i started doing when using Elektron gear, before getting NI Maschine. And its been a technique i use every time when building beats.
