Help with pre owned Komplete Kontrol MK3

Hi, I bought a pre owned Komplete Kontrol MK3 and need help setting up. I'm currently running a MK2 Komplete kontrol setup on my Mac Studio that I bought new so I have all the Native software already.

Hello,

the mk3 needs a driver you install via native access it´s called "hardware connection service". You will see it in native access after you registered the keyboard.

Additionally, the MK3 got a firmware update right around the 1st or 2nd of August. You must install the firmware update for the latest KK software to work correctly with the MK3 controller.

Also, I'd unplug the MK2 while you do your MK3 setup.

thank you very much, does it matter that I didn’t get any paperwork in the box? I figured since I have all the Native stuff already I wouldn’t need to purchase any additional key or software. I’ll try it soon here and see if I can get it going

Have you looked on the underside of the keyboard? But I'm not totally sure of you can register with that number you find there, I will mark @customercare and they surely can help here.

I really appreciate that I wanted to try a pre owned one first to compare them since one came up locally I wanted to try both side by side the mk2 and MK3 before I know which one to keep since I won’t need both

I updated everything but the screen on the keyboard still won't display anything but the default midi template.

I wanted to add that I just tried to register the serial number but apparently the person who sold it to the shop I bought it from didn't unregister it from their device so now it won't let me add it to my account. Could that be the source of the problem

I had an open support ticket already I just added to the inquiry right after I posted here. I apologize for not mentioning that sooner I didn’t think when I said it was pre owned to add that. It’s been a while since I bought any new NI hardware since my Maschine, jam, and kontrol mk2 hopefully that’s the missing link
