Komplete Kontrol & Maschine VST plugin sounds gone in Logic Pro X
Hi all, I recently accidentally deleted my plug-ins folder… I restored it from a backup… however now every Logic project I open, the instruments are all there still but all the sounds I made are gone… its like the project has "lost" every NI VST plugin instrument settings that I used.
The screenshot below shows what I get when I open the plugin in the Logic Project… the instruments are all there but its like I'm loading the plugin for the first ever time.
Is there any way I can get all my sounds back?
thanks
Mario

@mazydizzle What version of Komplete Kontrol are you using? This version looks like it's 2xx, the latest one is 3.3.2. If you don't own a MK1 keyboard, there's no real reason to not update. To check what version is loaded in Logic, simply click on the NI logo.
If you accendentaly deleted the plug-in folder, the best would be to reinstall all NI applications.in Native Access, they can be shown here:

did you rescan your plugins?

Hi, yes… I rescanned my plugins and they all appear… even all the instruments are there available… but all the actual sounds I have made in Maschine 2 VST's and Komple Kontrol VST's have all gone… its like the instruments have been loaded for the first time… Hope that makes sense

hi @Jeremy_NI thanks for your reply. I don’t think you understood my question.
The plugins work fine and the Maschine & Komplete Kontrok VSTs are there and available in logic as vast instruments.
I can see all the NI instruments in the browser of both plugins.
BUT… they are all blank. So all the sounds I have created in all my logic projects have reset back to blank, like when you add the plugin for the first time.
Do you understand what I mean?
Will reinstalling / updating NI plugins fix this? I don’t want to cause any more damage than I already have. I want to try and salvage all of the sounds I made.
I purposely backed up the logic projects and plugins folder just in case something like this would happen. So now after I have recovered the plugins folder, I find all the sounds have reset to blank.
Please confirm you understand and suggest my next course of action.
thanks

when using NI VSTs where is the sound/patch you are making stored or saved because that is clearly what has gone missing/broken?
I’ve never had to save patches because as long as I save the logic project, the state of the NI plugins and the sounds I’ve made always save their state somehow. So I’m wondering if there are other files/folders I need to restore to get my sounds back.

I do understand the issue. If you click on the NI logo in Komplete Kontrol when in Logic, what version is shown? If it's not the same as the standalone application, that's the source of your issue and that probably happened if you used files from a back up and you have updated the programs since that restore point.
So reinstalling the application will also reinstall the plug-ins so everything matches. You can try one plug-in at a time.
