Kontak 7 and Cubase

Hello,

I have a song that no longer opens in Cubase 11. I believe it may be due to a virtual instrument that requires Kontak 7.

When the song loads, the meter gets stuck trying to load Kontak 7. All appears up to date.

Anyone?

I would think the song should still OPEN in Cubase 11…with triangles or lightning bolts around the track that is failing to load.

    Windows or Mac? What versions?

Have you tried to open Kontakt 7 in standalone? Does it crash as well?

Please carry out these steps: Kontakt Crashes

@sanscript And have you tried the steps in the article? Had you set up special audio routings for Kontakt in Cubase? Multi outputs, etc…?

Jeremy, Not yet. In the meantime I've removed one Kontak 7 track (had two in stereo) and this allowed me to open the song and finish the mix. I will look into what you suggested and report back.

    Thanks.

@sanscript Any update? Do the crashes still happen?

New problem. I'm now no longer getting any audio output in Cubase.

I think the problem is a new instrument I've been using - "Embertone" "Whistler Ensemble"

I cannot get this instrument to load and remain in Kontak 7. Not sure this is the problem, though I shouldn't have to reload the Whistler Ensemble in Kontak 7 - should I?

Trying to follow the above. "click the option that appears" well there are multiple options…I click on one and it takes to a webpage describing what localapdata is.

Is there a step missing in that request?

Do you srtill experience crashes? If not, this is not necessary.

I'm also having trouble understanding what you mean here. you just need to navigate until the Native Instruments folder found in %localappdata%

No dice. Presently I'm waiting for a call from Steinberg. We'll see where that goes.
