I've just opened up an old ProTools session which contains several instances of Kontakt 5. I'm now using the latest version of Kontakt, so in the session the Kontakt 5 instruments are greyed out. How do I get the instrument information into a Kontakt 7 instrument?

there is no auto migration of Kontakt versions (or other plugins from other companies). It's only possible with Cubase and Logic at the moment. This is something that DAWs have to implement.

To open your old projects you would need to install the previous version of Kontakt, if your operating system allows it.

I doubt you can, this is more of a ProTools issue than it has to do with Kontakt. Don't forget that the availability of presets change over time, so for all we know.. they may not even exist anymore.

Sorry to bring bad news, but I don't think you can resolve this without redoing parts of the project (Kontakt wise of course).
