I'm joining the club. In my case it's with an external Arturia keyboard. None of the ones they've added support NKS, so it's with midi learn

One more thing as an addition - I don't know if this might help to find the error: If I select a new instrument category in the browser in KK 2.9.6 (e.g. Piano/Keys) and then immediately start to scroll through the instruments with the 4D encoder, it is often the case that scrolling is extremely slow at first. I then have to stop the encoder for 1 or 2 seconds and wait briefly. Only then, when I turn it again, does the scrolling go quickly. In the KK 2.9.6 software itself, I have also just tried out that scrolling through the presets does not always go 100% smoothly when the arrow keys (down arrow) are pressed for a long time. In contrast to browsing on the keyboard itself, the white bar sometimes stops or hangs for a short time when many instruments are displayed. However, it is still significantly faster than under KK 3.x.x

what OS? I find no such issue in 2.9 on Windows, using the arrows is always super fast scrolling and consistent no matter the category.

    Windows 11.

Interesting. Well, it's still much smoother than on KK 3.x.x

It also doesn't seem to happen always. Mostly after I changed the category on my Mk2 keyboard...

Not any improvements in the last 2 updates. I started using Kontakt 7, this app is still working really quick and smooth. Komplete Kontrol is komplete useless at the moment! I still hope NI will make this issue high priority. I lot of convenient functionality on my Komplete S88 keyboard also not working smoothly anymore because of the annoying delay when browsing for the perfect sound. This issue is open for more than half a year now!!!

Mate, these concerns were raised in Beta by a number of us, the drop in performance and how clunky the browsing was compared to V2. This doesn't even start on the poor layout decisions… Not sure it will improve any time soon, been pretty consistent for a decade!

You are referring to the layout and browsing, which I agree could be much better, but preview speed (which is the issue here) in itself seems no different for me, in fact it is very fast (and I probably have a lot more NKS presets than most people). Although it has been filed as a bug I'm not sure it is clear yet exactly what is causing it for the systems affected as there is no clear pattern, some systems are affected, others are not.

There was an offer for some people affected to join the beta team, that might be helpful to nail this.

My feedback basically day 1 was the browsing overall (not due to the degraded layout) was MUCH slower, scrolling speed was slower, clicking around was slower and of course switching between plugin and preset is MUCH slower but not related to this issue.

It was also stated that efficiency took a hit, memory footprint was almost double and overall it seemed much more bloated with almost no real improvements to anything.

No need to correct me on what I say, I am pretty confident in what I am saying.

Yes but as you say - not related to this issue. I think when it is hard enough to pin down what is causing this for some people it is important to be specific. You are referring to general issues with the GUI, which are perfectly valid but affect everyone, but not slow previews, which do not. So it's worth trying to pin down specifically what additional factors are causing this on the systems affected, but not others. It can't simply be the increased memory footprint because then everyone would be experiencing this, nor can it be number of presets (as a single determining factor), is OS a factor, drive type?

similar issues are being raised here tho in regards to slow browsing so it is likely all related. Maybe if more attention were paid in the beginning of reports it wouldn’t have snowballed. Prob needed to prove it affects Kontakt libraries to have any attention paid.

I have stayed on KK 2.x due to some of the functionality lost. This issue concerns me but have not tested if I would be affected. I did have similar issues at some point in Maschine's browser. In that case, it was a large amount of user samples that slowed things down. The slowness was eventually reduced in an update but I had to trim down sample folders to get things back to normal. Are those who are having this issue importing sample folders? Could it be presets for particular VSTs?

Don't believe it's preset related (tho I do not load samples in KK, I use BaseHead for my sample browser), at least in V2 of KK my preset count (NKS) is over 700,000 and holding the down arrow to scroll presets is super fast, doesn't stutter or pause and sound previews play just as fast, V2 is snappy and efficient, not the experience I have had in V3 which scrolls much slower, pauses often and seems others have more issues than I had.

I need to install V3 on my second dev machine to test and compare the latest which I hope to make a comparison video of both performance and lost or broken functionality between V2 and V3 to show that it is yet to improve on things but currently I still feel V2 is a more stable bet if you don't have an MK3 keyboard.

    Hi!
A new version of KK is available on Native Access.

    Anyone tested the new version?
