Number of MIDI Templates in SMK3

"If you use multiple external MIDI devices (e.g., hardware synths) or software MIDI devices (e.g., various plug-ins, DAWs), you can create and switch between as many templates as needed for each product, providing instant control."

How many templates can the S series hold, exactly?

There's no limit for the number of templates at the moment.

As many as you want. That’s the beauty of it. You can scroll through them with the previous and next buttons in real time. Also, the MK3 now has an unlimited number of pages per template so you can map all 127 midi controls if you want on each channel. Combined with the fact that Komplete Kontrol presets remember midi cc learn assignments and the midi template functionality of the MK3 is one of the best you can buy. I have been hating on (and boycotting) NI for almost a year over this feature. They got it right.

you can create 16 Pages, like in Maschine.

Do you mean NKS templates re Maschine? I have created templates in KK that have far more than 16 pages and they seem to work in Maschine

nah, maschine 2. software & stand-alone (makro pages called)
I'm not so familiar with KK, tbh.

Yes, basically can map all the CC messages on a particular channel is what I meant (16x8 knobs=128 for the 0-127 cc range; adding buttons you could cover 2 channels fully). The Kontrol MK2 was limited to 4 pages (64 total cc assignments, or 50% coverage for 1 channel), so I would have to have multiple templates if I needed more on an instrument.
